One Church - One Heart Returns

Last summer, something beautiful happened. More than 12 churches from across South Ottawa gathered on one field to worship Jesus together. Different denominations, different traditions, different congregations—but one Saviour, one mission, and one heart. It was a powerful reminder that while we meet in different places each Sunday, we are one Church in Christ.
Because of the overwhelming encouragement from last year's gathering, One Church – One Heart is returning! This year we have 15 different congregations involved from the Southend of Ottawa.
Join us on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. on the Ottawa Christian School soccer field (255 Tartan Ave.) for a celebration of worship, prayer, and unity.
Why This Matters
On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus prayed: "I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me." (John 17:23, NLT)
Unity isn't simply a good idea—it's the heart of Jesus for His Church.
In a world marked by division, the Church has a unique opportunity to demonstrate something different. When believers come together around the Gospel, we bear witness to the transforming love of Christ. Our unity becomes part of our testimony.
What to Expect
You'll experience the same welcoming format that made last year's gathering such a blessing:
• Outdoor worship led by musicians from churches across our city.
• Pastors from multiple congregations, leading Scripture, prayer, and a message centered on our unity in Christ.
• A time of united prayer for Ottawa and the work God is doing throughout our community.
• The opportunity to bless those serving people in our region struggling with food insecurity, by bringing some non-perishable food donations.
• A community picnic following the service with food trucks, activities for children, and plenty of time to build new friendships across church families.
You're Invited
Whether you attend Sequoia or another local church—or you're simply curious about Jesus—you are warmly invited. Bring your family, invite a friend, pack a lawn chair, bring some non-perishable food items for the local food cupboards, and join us as we celebrate what God is doing across South Ottawa.
Let's continue building on what God began last summer.
