Easter Changes Everything
By Ryan Dawson
Easter truly changes everything! The Apostle Paul makes this abundantly clear in
1 Corinthians 15:17-20 (NLT) when he writes:
“And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! 19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. 20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.”
•Because Jesus has risen from the dead “all the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ”. (2 Cor. 1:20)
•Because Jesus has risen from the dead, sin and death have been defeated. (1 Cor. 15:54-55)
•Because Jesus has risen from the dead we have “new life in Christ – the old is gone and the new life has begun.” (2 Cor. 5:17)
•Because Jesus has risen from the grave, we have a Living Hope that “guarantees our inheritance that will never fade or spoil.” (1 Peter 1:3-4)
•Because Jesus has risen from the dead, nothing is impossible because “God gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” (Romans 4:17).
•Because Jesus has risen from the tomb, our current struggles and challenges have a greater purpose. (James 1:2-4)
•Because Jesus has risen from the grave, our work in this life really matters (1 Cor. 15:58)
•Because Jesus has risen from the grave, we know we are loved and accepted by God, and that we have eternal life in Christ. (John 11:25-26)
•Because Jesus has risen from the grave, we know how the story ends for us, and it is good! (Revelation 22)
Because the Easter Story is so amazing and changes everything for us, we need to take the opportunity to invite others to hear this message. I encourage you to reach out to your friends, colleagues, neighbours, and family members and invite them to our Easter services this weekend so they can be blessed by the reality of the Risen Christ.
We have one in-person service on Good Friday at 10am and 10:10am on-line, and two in-person services on Sunday at 9am and 11am with our on-line service at 10:10am.
I hope to see you this weekend with some of your friends because Easter Changes Everything! Happy Easter!
Blessings, Ryan
