52 Days of Presence & Power

By Ryan Dawson

What would happen if, for 52 days, we set our hearts and minds on Jesus together?

Sequoia family, we’re inviting you to join us on a journey—a 52-day challenge that will shape our faith, ignite our hearts, and deepen our walk with Christ.

Starting Monday April 28, we will be reading one chapter a day through the Gospel of Luke and then the Book of Acts. That’s 24 chapters of Luke followed by 28 chapters of Acts—52 days of intentional time in God’s Word, together as one body.  We’re calling this journey: “52 Days of Presence and Power.”

Why Luke and Acts?
The Gospel of Luke gives us a rich and intimate look at the life of Jesus—His compassion, His miracles, His teachings, and His unwavering love for all people. Then Acts picks up the story, showing how God’s Spirit continues to work through ordinary men and women, transforming them into bold witnesses and powerful instruments of God’s kingdom.  Together, these books take us from the incarnation to the resurrection, and from the upper room to the ends of the earth. They show us what it looks like to live in the presence of Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

What’s the Goal?
This is not just a reading plan—it’s a call to deeper discipleship. Our prayer is that over these 52 days:
• You will encounter Jesus in a fresh and personal way.
• You will be challenged to follow Him more faithfully.
• You will discover the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through your life.
• You will grow as a witness for Christ, helping others find and follow Jesus.
• You will be reminded that you’re part of something bigger—a church family learning, growing, and walking together with Jesus.

How to Participate:
1. Commit to reading one chapter each day—starting with Luke 1.  We have created 52 Days of Presence & Power books marks to help you stay current and you can get these at Guest Services on Sunday.  This information will also be posted on the Sequoia App.
2. Receive a daily reminder from the Sequoia App with the chapter to read, by turning on your notifications.
3. Pray before you read. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you and guide your heart.
4. Reflect on what you read. Write down a verse, a thought, or a prayer.
5. Share what God is teaching you with someone else—maybe your family and friends, your Impact Community, or on social media using hashtag  #52DaysPresencePower.

Let’s Do This Together
Imagine the impact of an entire church reading the same scriptures, praying the same prayers, and moving in the same direction. This is more than a challenge—it’s an invitation to experience Jesus in a powerful new way.

So, grab your Bible, invite a friend, and let’s embark on 52 Days of Presence and Power.
Let’s not just read about revival—let’s live it.

For Christ and Kingdom, Ryan
