The Big Give

What is The Big Give?

The Big Give is a national movement of generosity. Every year, churches across our country bless their neighbourhoods through a unified day of giving extravagantly where EVERYTHING IS FREE! This year, on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at Ottawa Christian School, Sequoia Community Church will be partnering with The Big Give by hosting a free garage sale, a free continental breakfast and free services!

"What can I donate to The Big Give?"

Items Needed:

gently used washed clothing
shoes
sports equipment
bikes/scooters
toys
books, cds and dvds
small appliances (please ensure the appliance is in working order)
baby clothes and small items
stationary/office supplies
Linens
accessories
plastic shopping bags - lots!

Items NOT needed:

furniture
large appliances or large items,
baby items such as car seats, strollers, and cribs (may put you in a position of liability)
old computers, monitors and equipment

"How Can I Donate To The Big Give?"

Please indicate your donation by filling out the Google Form below. Donation drop off will be happening at Ottawa Christian School on Friday, May 31st between 4pm - 7pm. If you cannot drop off on this date, please contact Diane Saikaley to arrange another time to drop off.

“How can I help outside of donating?”

Here are a few ways you can join us on Friday May 31st or Saturday, June 1st:

Sorting donations at Ottawa Christian School: Friday from 4-7 pm
Setting up for the event: Saturday from 8:30-10am
Supporting a table at the event: Saturday from 10am-1pm
Tearing down the event: Saturday 1- 2pm
Providing a free service: Saturday 10am-1pm
Guest Services: Saturday 10am-1pm
Donating baked goods for the Continental Breakfast (muffins, cookies)
